Color Grading

Here is how this works in practice. We deliver creative grading that shapes mood, contrast and visual style in service of the director's storytelling. Our team sets up colorist sessions, media preparation and reference review in calibrated grading suites, working from look development through scene-by-scene grading to final deliverables. Dutch finishing facilities in Amsterdam and Hilversum, the broadcast-media hub, grade feature drama, documentary and advertising, and our colorists work in DaVinci Resolve and comparable systems with calibrated reference displays.

Here is what we have to work with. We grade in HDR natively where needed, creating SDR trim passes for standard distribution, and support HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG pipelines. Remote grading sessions allow filmmakers to direct the work from anywhere. We deliver graded masters in each format a project's release demands, from theatrical and festival to broadcast and streaming, with quality control against each sites's specs.

Here is the short of it. The Netherlands has a strong documentary and drama custom. Grading supports titles bound for the Global Film Festival Rotterdam, the Global Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. This awards the Golden Calf. Theatrical grades are finished to DCI cinema standards, while broadcast deliverables for NPO and the commercial networks RTL Nederland and Talpa follow EBU tech specs, as the country is an EBU member.

Here is the layout. Netflix runs its EMEA hub from Amsterdam, so grading to streaming HDR and SDR delivery specs is routine. Our team works in the visual lineage of acclaimed Dutch cinematography.
