Look Development

Here is how this works in practice. We deliver look development that sets up a production's visual style and color aesthetic before principal photography, testing cameras, lenses, lighting and LUTs to produce reference images and tech specs. Our team sets up camera tests, LUT creation and the joint work between cinematographer and colorist, arranging facilities and grading suites in Amsterdam and Hilversum, the Dutch broadcast-media hub.

Here is the layout. Colorists develop many look options on key scenes, refine the chosen direction and build tracking LUTs that carry the intended look onto set monitors and dailies while preserving full dynamic range in the RAW capture. We document the look in style guides so each department works toward a unified image. We integrate the look running cleanly into the production and post pipeline. The result is a defined, tested look ready to guide steady capture from the first day of the shoot.

Here is the short of it. The Netherlands has a deep cinematography custom that informs look development. Look development supports feature drama, documentary and commercial work heading for the Global Film Festival Rotterdam and the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht, with the Netherlands Film Fund's 35% cash rebates drawing shoots to base their post in the country.
