Music Composition & Scoring

Here is how this works in practice. We deliver first music composition and scoring, connecting shoots with composers, orchestrators and recording resources who shape music to the edit. Our team sets up the brief, spotting sessions, demo rounds and final score recording, managing the workflow from first sketches through stems delivered to the re-recording mix. Dutch scoring sessions can be recorded in Amsterdam and Hilversum studios. The country gives top ensemble resources for orchestral and today's work.

Here is what we have to work with. Composers write to picture, revise against edit changes, and deliver cues conformed to the final cut, while we handle session logistics, musician contracting and stem preparation. We work across orchestral, electronic and hybrid idioms, prepare alternates and versions for trailers and global cuts, and deliver fully labelled music stems and printmasters ready for the final mix and for distribution.

Here is the short of it. The Netherlands gives extraordinary musical depth: the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam is among the world's greatest orchestras, anchored by the Concertgebouw concert hall, and the Metropole Orkest is a Grammy-winning pop and jazz orchestra well suited to film scoring. The country is the global capital of electronic music — home to Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix — and produced film composer Tom Holkenborg, known as Junkie XL, who scored 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and Zack Snyder's films.

Here is the layout. Music rights and royalties are administered by the Dutch collecting society Buma/Stemra. Our team sets up scoring for feature drama, documentary and commercial work heading for the Global Film Festival Rotterdam, IDFA and NPO broadcast, with the Netherlands Film Fund's 35% cash rebates supporting shoots that base scoring and post in the country.
