Here is how this works in practice. Here is how the picture comes together. We build 2D matte paintings for locked-off shots and 2.5D projection environments mapped to simplified geometry for shots with camera movement and parallax. We handle hybrid ways for more dynamic moves. Artists analyse the first photography for lighting direction, color, atmosphere and lens traits, matching these precisely and compositing with proper color running. We deliver environment work at 4K and beyond, ready for the final composite.
