Here is how this works in practice. We assemble grip packages. C-stands, flags, frames, overheads, dollies, track and full rigging hardware — from Dutch rental vendors concentrated in the Amsterdam and Rotterdam production clusters, sized to the scale of a commercial, documentary or drama shoot. Our team sets up delivery, set-up and de-rig so the grip department arrives to a complete, checked kit.

Here is the breakdown. For heavy-duty rigging or pro grip hardware not held in-country, gear moves freely by road from neighbouring Germany and Belgium, since the Netherlands is a founding EU member in the single market and Schengen — no carnet is needed for intra-EU transport. Because hire from Dutch vendors counts as qualifying Dutch spend, sourcing grip locally also feeds a global shoots's claim under the 35% The country Film Production Rebates administered by the Netherlands Film Fund.

Here is the short of it. Grip work in the Netherlands is shaped by two constants: access and weather. Amsterdam's canal ring is built around narrow streets, masonry bridges and tight courtyards, so we plan grip logistics with care — staging gear close to set, using compact carts where trucks cannot reach, and rigging within the load limits of historic bridges. The temperate maritime climate is mild but persistently wet and windy: the flat, open terrain of the polders lets the wind cross freely, so we weight stands well, deploy sandbags and storm-strap overheads and frames against gusts, and carry rain covers and condensation control as standard for the frequent rain.

On the North Sea coast and the Wadden Islands, salt air and exposure add to the rigging brief, and we plan grip set-ups that stay safe and stable in shifting conditions.
